FAQ

Q1:WHAT IS USB-C?

USB-C, also known as Type-C, is the latest connector developed by the USB Implementers' Forum (USB-IF), a group of industry leaders within the consumer electronics community, such as Apple, Intel, Dell, and Belkin. As many of the world's most recognized manufacturers are supporting this new technology, it is likely to be widely adopted. With such support, USB-C will gradually replace previous USB types, including USB-A, USB-B and USB Mini-B. Plus, as future devices are equipped with the new USB-C port, which is smaller than its predecessors, it's likely these devices will also be thinner and lighter than ever before.

Q2:WHAT DOES A USB-C OR TYPE-C CABLE LOOK LIKE?

The USB-C cable head is smaller than before, and looks a bit like a Micro-USB connector.
Eventually this is the USB connector you'll use with your devices instead of using your existing USB-A, Micro-B, USB-Mini, or Lightning cable.

Q3: WHY IS USB-C BETTER THAN EXISTING USB CABLES?

USB-C IS EASIER TO USE
Reversible Connector. The USB-C, or Type-C connector is user friendly. There's no up or down orientation so it works regardless of which way you plug it in.
Truly universal. Not just happy to work with smartphones, tablets, laptops, digital cameras, or anything that traditionally connects via USB, USB-C is also at home across different operating systems like iOS, Android, Windows, Google and more. Now that's a real game changer. PERFORMANCE
It's really, really fast. USB-C can transfer data at up to 10Gbps (gigabits per second). Or an entire high definition feature-length movie in just 30 seconds. That's up to 20 times faster than USB2.0.
More power. With up to 100 watts, or 3 amps of power, USB-C cables can power almost anything. From laptops to large high-resolution monitors, even some printers.
The 4K Ultra HD experience. USB-C cables can deliver Ultra-HD 4K video resolution to USB-C and HDMI displays. That's 4 times the resolution of standard high definition. THE FUTURE OF USB-C
USB-C isn't just a new development. It's a new standard. Which means that everything it promises — speed, ease of use, universality — can be applied to all sorts of devices. With this much potential, USB-C has another edge over existing USB cables: it'll be around for much longer.

Q4:IS USB TYPE-C THE SAME AS USB 3.1?

Although USB-C and USB 3.1 were developed at the same time, they are not the same thing.
USB 3.1 is an upgrade from the familiar USB 2.0, and more recent USB 3.0, offering significantly faster data transfer.
USB-C is not backward compatible, however we offer USB-C cables and adapters for your every need.
USB 3.1 is the new technology. The USB-C connector enables the functionality to support the new technology.

Q5. “This is my first time putting on a screen protector and I tried my best to install it properly, but I was unable to remove all of the bubbles during the installation of the first protector. What do you recommend?”

A. We highly recommend the “Rubber Band Hinge Method” of installation (above) for any beginners, or for anyone having difficulty installing their screen protectors. You can view a demonstration of this method at the top of this Installation Page. In the meantime, please try using this method to help install the second, “back-up” screen protector that is included in the package. Also, you may contact us at support@lention.net to receive a replacement to “give it another go” or if you need further assistance with installation.

Q6. “My screen protectors just arrived and when I opened them up they have a crease in the middle of them. What happened and what should I do?”

A. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. It seems as if your protector may have been damaged during shipping. Please contact us at support@lention.net to receive a free replacement item, compliments of our hassle-free, lifetime replacement warranty on all screen protectors.

Q7. “I put my screen protector on and now the display screen of my device is not looking as clear. What can I do to fix this problem?”

A. It is possible that the reason for this 'cloudy' appearance is due to the fact that you have purchased the Anti-Glare version of our screen protectors. In order to be effective at reducing glare and fingerprints, these protectors are made with a clear, matte material and can produce a slight pixilation of the devices’ screen clarity. This is the natural effect created by the matte (anti-glare) frosted texture and you may be more satisfied in purchasing one of our HD Clear screen protectors.

Q8. “I put on my new screen protector and now I cannot scroll as easily as before, why?”

A. We assure you that our screen protectors are made of the highest quality PET Materials on the market and are designed to be as thin as possible, yet still retain maximum scratch resistance. At times it is possible to experience some initial resistance scrolling when the screen protector is first applied. If you “break it in” and continue to have problems with the scrolling/motion, it is possible that you may have received a defective product. Please email us at support@lention.com and we will be more than happy to help solve this matter.
