1. Video Output: Look Beyond “Supports 4K”

A product page saying:

4K HDMI

does not tell you enough.

Check the exact combination:

4K@30Hz

or:

4K@60Hz

A dock being capable of outputting 4K@60Hz does not mean the handheld will render every game at 4K and 60 fps.

100W PD

or even higher.

That number describes the maximum supported Power Delivery path, not necessarily what the handheld will consume.

Steam Deck's official specification lists a 45W USB-C PD 3.0 power supply.

So connecting Steam Deck to a 100W PD-capable hub does not make it charge at 100W.

USB Power Delivery negotiation allows the device to request a compatible power profile.

Other handheld gaming PCs may support different charging levels, so always check the handheld manufacturer's specification.
